چکیده

Abstract—A model for the two-dimensional analysis of microstrip lines, named Rigorously Coupled Multi-conductor Strip (RCMS) is introduced. In this model, the width of the strip of a microstrip line is subdivided into a large number of rigorously coupled narrow strips. So, a microstrip line can be considered as a coupled multi-conductor transmission line. Determination of the capacitance and inductance matrices of the model is introduced, also. The voltages and currents induced by electromagnetic fields for the coupled multi-condutor strips problem can be obtained using Bernardi’s method. The effect of an external EM wave on a microstrip line with non-uniformity in its width is computed by adding the circuit model of transverse discontinuity (narrow slit) to the RCMS model. Finally, the validity and efficiency of the introduced method is investigated using previous work and full wave EM-simulation software.

Finite Difference Analysis of Cylindrical Two Conductor Microstrip Transmission Line with Truncated Dielectrics

The characteristics of the quasi-static TEM mode of a cylindrical microstrip transmission line are investigated using the finite difference technique. The transmission line consists of two perfectly conducting strips located between two different layers of dielectric materials, and a dielectric notch embedded in the substrate between two strips. The dielectric overlay and substrate are truncate...

The Effect of an Air Gap on the Coupling Between Two Planar Microstrip Lines

The finite difference (FD) technique is used to investigate the air yap effect on the coupling between two planar microstrip lines. The strip lines are embedded between a dielectric substrate and a dielectric overlay. The air gap between the substrate and the overlay is present due to the thickness of the strips and~or the roughness o f the planar surfaces. A quasi-static FD technique based on ...

Modeling and design of superconducting microwave passive devices and interconnects

A spectral-domain volume-integral-equation method is developed for analyzing superconducting planar transmission lines. This method rigorously accounts for the complex conductivity, the finite metallization thickness, and the anisotropy of superconductors. Calculated effective dielectric constants and quality factors for microstrip lines and coplanar waveguides show good agreement with measured...

Leaky Wave Antenna Realization by Compos- Ite Right/left-handed Transmission Line

This paper presents a realization of composite right/left handed transmission lines using coupled microstrip lines. This structure exploits the advantages of the microstrip lines, while increases the coupling by a floating conductor at the ground plane. The performance of this composite right/left-handed line is demonstrated by both simulated and measured results, and they show good agreement. ...
